It’s giving season and the University has a gift for its animal friends.
Southwestern University PHINMA has finally opened the doors to its first Veterinary Hospital, South Paws, located at the University Veterinary Medicine Building last December 1, 2023.
The launch of the South Paws Hospital is a testament to Southwestern University PHINMA’s commitment to “provide quality healthcare for its animal companion.”
In an interview with The Quill, Dr. Rickmond Dela Bajan, South Paws SWU PHINMA Veterinary Hospital Director, states that the veterinary hospital can accommodate between 15 to 20 animal patients per day.
“For now, we can cater vaccination, deworming, and consultation,” Dr. Dela Bajan said when asked about the facilities inside the South Paws.
Moreover, the SWU Veterinary Medicine interns can now do their duties in the South Paws Hospital.
Despite the project’s delays due to the pandemic, the hospital has been successfully finished this year and is now open to the public.
Along with the opening ceremony, the blessing of the South Paws and the MOA Signing Ceremony of Partnership for Extension Activities between Southwestern University PHINMA and its partners also commenced on December 1, 2023.
