What do you wish for this Christmas?
Christmas is around the corner! And while everyone couldn’t celebrate the yuletide season as much as before, all that matters is spreading goodwill and showcasing love for others.
This year might prove to be a difficult moment for us, but nevertheless the essence of Christmas is love, hope, joy and peace — traits that we can share regardless of any situation.
To get to know the Maroon community’s wishes this Christmas, The Quill reached out to students from different college departments to share their wishes in the coming yuletide season.

I wish for not only my loved ones’ safety and good health, but for everyone else’s too. I wish I could spend the holidays with my family as a whole again. It’s going to be the 4th year not having them around. For everything to go back to normal so I can go back to school, have proper classes, and meet my long missed friends.
Diana A. Dela Torre, School of Dentistry

This Christmas, the only thing that I wish is to gain knowledge about surviving this pandemic mentally, physically, and financially. With this, I can spread the word to my neighbors and other people for them to be informed and prevent the further cause of this pandemic.
Jake Ryle V. Ebrado, College of Nursing

This Christmas, my only wish is to have a safe and healthy holiday celebration for everyone and praying for the people who have battling this pandemic and other challenges this year. I really hope that this pandemic would come to an end soon as possible so that we can go back to normal and am praying and hoping that 2021 will be a better and healing year for all of us. Warmest wishes for faith, hope, and peace this Christmas season. Stay safe, everyone.
Glenjen Estenzo, College of Medical Technology

It has been a tough year for all of us, yet God has been so faithful and gracious for being with us all throughout the year. My wish and prayer is that, for everyone to find Joy in the process of Healing; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually despite everything that has happened. Above all else, let us all not forget the reason for this season, Jesus.
Anghela Jayme, College of Pre-Medicine

Lalaine Alde Jumawan, College of Optometry.

Wishing for something is like uplifting your hope that this “thing”or whatever you wished for may come true for the sake of your happiness and at least a little joy to boost the christmas holiday. I just hope that our Christmas would be a celebration full of love despite the hardships we faced because the true essence of Christmas is LOVING and GIVING.
Jackielyn Rose P. Piczon, College of Nursing

Accountability. Incompetence. Pandemic-Free.
As a person with a privilege, I felt the need to set aside my wishes of materialism, for now, and pursue to wish the relevant priorities. To be honest, this year has given me nothing but constant fear, sadness, and, above all, anger to our new reality. So, if my wishes were to come true this coming Christmas, I would finally give a benefit of the doubt to Santa and be truly happy.
